The Ryan Foundation: Supporting Mothers, Children, and Families with Compassion

The earliest moments of a child's life can shape a lifetime of opportunity. By supporting organizations that provide practical assistance and compassionate care, The Ryan Foundation is helping ensure that children and families have the resources they need to thrive.

In November 2024, The Ryan Foundation donated $350,000 to the Christ Child Society of Omaha, supporting its mission of serving children and families through programs that meet essential needs while fostering long-term success. For more than 120 years, the organization has provided faith-inspired, volunteer-driven support to families across the Omaha community, responding with compassion, dignity, and practical assistance as needs have evolved over generations.

Today, the Christ Child Society of Omaha focuses on initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and parents, including newborn layettes, car seat distributions, early literacy programs, and scholarships that help single mothers pursue higher education and career training. Since the scholarship program began in 2019, 80 mothers have earned bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, or professional certifications, creating brighter futures for themselves and their children. The organization has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships, reinforcing the belief that when a mother succeeds, an entire family benefits.

The Christ Child Society's impact extends far beyond financial assistance. Dedicated volunteers assemble newborn layettes, distribute books that encourage early literacy, provide child safety resources, and work alongside community partners to meet families where they are with encouragement, care, and hope. This legacy of service has remained steadfast for more than a century and continues to touch the lives of children throughout the Omaha area.
