The Ryan Foundation's exciting annoucement with Boys Town National Research Hospital
The Ryan Foundation has continued support for The Boys Town National Research Hospital furthering the commitment of advancing medical research with support of the groundbreaking work led by Dr. M. Rohan Fernando and his team.
For more than 50 years, Boys Town National Research Hospital has been at the forefront of pediatric care and research, dedicated to changing the way America cares for children. The donation will primarily be used for the hospital’s new 123,000-square-foot research wing dedicated to Dr. Wayne Ryan.

The Dr. Wayne Ryan Research clinic broke ground on November 12, 2025 with completion scheduled for 2027. The total addition will be 254,000-suare-foot with two wings, one wing being the research facility and another wing is expanded clinical space.
The expansion will foster collaboration between clinicians and scientists, accelerating discoveries that benefit children and families nationwide. Including the continued funding of the project investigating the molecular biological basis of childhood and adult diseases, including Type 2 diabetes, hearing loss, autism spectrum disorder, pediatric cancers, chronic kidney disease, neurodegenerative diseases, and the relationship between the gut microbiome and human disease.
The Ryan Foundation, established by Dr. Wayne and Eileen Ryan, has a long history of supporting medical research, healthcare, and education. Dr. Ryan’s legacy as an innovator and entrepreneur in molecular diagnostics lives on through the Foundation’s support of projects that drive scientific breakthroughs and compassionate care.
“Always an innovator and researcher at heart, I think that Dr. Ryan would be excited about the life-changing care, driven by research, that this new facility will be offering our patients and how the groundbreaking work done here will influence clinicians across the globe,” said Ryan McCreery, Ph.D., Vice President of Research at Boys Town National Research Hospital from article "Dr. Wayne Ryan’s Scientific Innovation and Entrepreneurial Vision Lives On".
