The Ryan Foundation committed an additional $800,000.00 to support St. Vincent De Paul Society of Omaha

The Ryan Foundation donated $800,000.00 to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Omaha in May 2024.

St. Vincent de Paul directs financial support to neighbors throughout the Archdiocese of Omaha, helping those facing financial crises such as rent, mortgage, and utility arrears. To date, The Ryan Foundation has contributed $2.1 million to the Society, assisting 11,434 recipients, including $1.9 million in 2021 alone. The Society’s food pantry also recorded 47,826 visits over the year.

Since 1868, St. Vincent de Paul has offered support to neighbors in need through spirituality, friendship, and service, providing food, clothing, and both material and financial assistance. The Society also includes Ozanam Outreach of Omaha, a homelessness-prevention program staffed by 11 employees who work alongside more than 400 Vincentian volunteers from 31 local parishes in the Archdiocese of Omaha. The Ozanam Outreach Help Hotline received 7,767 calls in 2022; in the first four months of 2023 alone, it had already received 6,916 calls.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul embodies the type of love and caring assistance Dr. Ryan and Eileen Ryan provided during their lives.
