The Ryan Foundation continues support for the Heart Ministry Center, Inc.

In July 2026, The Ryan Foundation continued its longstanding partnership with Heart Ministry Center with a $655,500 donation supporting programs that provide food, healthcare, employment opportunities, and a path toward greater stability for individuals and families throughout the Omaha community.

Heart Ministry Center continues to meet growing community needs while expanding opportunities that help individuals move forward. Over the past year, its Choice Food Distribution Program provided fresh and shelf-stable food to more than 160,000 community members, while the Monen Healthcare Clinic treated more than 6,300 patients and helped save those patients more than $1 million in medical expenses.

Beyond meeting immediate needs, Heart Ministry Center is creating opportunities for lasting economic independence through its Fresh Start job training and placement program. The program recently celebrated its 160th graduate and has expanded from its original 15–18 weeks of training to a nine-month model designed to provide participants with additional coaching, skill development, and real-world work experience.

That mission is also growing through Heart Ministry Center's network of social enterprises. Fresh Start Laundromat, Fresh Floral, and Brave Heart Gear provide employment and hands-on training opportunities for Fresh Start graduates while generating revenue that is reinvested into programs serving the community. Looking ahead, Heart Ministry Center is also planning a neighborhood grocery store that will provide fresh, affordable food while creating additional jobs and economic opportunity in North Omaha.

The Ryan Foundation is proud to continue supporting Heart Ministry Center as it combines compassionate service with opportunities for long-term growth. By helping individuals access essential resources today while developing the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed for tomorrow, Heart Ministry Center is helping build stronger families and a stronger Omaha community.
