The Ryan Foundation continues Support to the Diocese of Lincoln’s Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund

The Ryan Foundation donated an additional $1.5 million to the Diocese of Lincoln’s Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund in July 2024. Since 2022, the foundation has contributed a total of $6 million in support of the program.

Throughout 2024 and into 2025, the Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund has awarded more than 1,417 scholarships, receiving 2,639 student applications and distributing a total of $2.6 million in scholarship aid. Since its inception in 2019, the program has provided more than $14.5 million in financial assistance to families and Catholic schools in the Lincoln Diocese. By bridging the gap between tuition costs and families’ ability to pay, the Good Shepherd Scholarship ensures that any child—regardless of religion or background—can access a Catholic education. Notably, the program has achieved a 100% graduation rate among scholarship recipients since 2019.

Eileen Ryan, benefactor of the Ryan Foundation, was a strong advocate for affordable tuition and unwavering support of Catholic education.

“The students who may not otherwise be able to afford tuition are being prepared to contribute to the greater good of society as well-formed Catholics and responsible citizens. Your support brings real hope and immediate help to these families,” said The Most Rev. James D. Conley, Bishop of Lincoln.
