The Ryan Foundation Donates $195,225.00 to The Servants of Mary Omaha
The Ryan Foundation donated $195,225 to The Servants of Mary in Omaha beginning in July 2024, building on the $277,000 contribution made in July 2023. These donations have been used to fund salary, FICA, workers’ compensation, insurance, and professional development costs associated with the program.

At St. Mary’s, the Servants have a median age of 81, while the current leadership team has a median age of 72. Two sisters serve in full-time, paid ministry, and those physically able participate in volunteer ministry while also supporting the daily needs of elderly, frail sisters. Healthcare coverage continues to rise in cost, and the Motherhouse assists with securing appropriate treatment and coordinating care, including the placement of sisters in suitable residences.
The Ryan Foundation’s contributions supported the long-held goal of establishing a guaranteed three-year salary position for a Health Care Coordinator, including cost-of-living adjustments. That position was filled in November 2023, ensuring the continuation of vital services despite the increasing healthcare needs of the sisters. The Health Care Coordinator has since provided essential support, including relocating sisters requiring assisted or long-term care, managing daily services, and consulting with other healthcare professionals.
This commitment reflects the Ryan Foundation’s dedication to nurturing sustainable healthcare for religious communities and supporting the Servants of Mary in their mission.
